Huntington County Jail The Huntington County Jail was built in 1984 at a cost of $2.2 million dollars. It is designed to house 99 inmates but averages 100 to 105 inmates throughout the year. In 1998, a second floor was added, which consists of office space and a large meeting room.

Inmate Property Inmates can only release property they were arrested with (i.e. phone, wallet, jewelry, etc.). Clothing and money will not be released Items accumulated while incarcerated will not be released. Inmates will need to mail out these items at their expense.

The Huntington County Jail is equipped to better impact inmates, families, and the community at large following a comprehensive expansion, renovation, and reorganization of the facility. With Weigand operating as the general contractor on this project, the county sheriff commissioned development of the prison to fulfill the need for more space.
